Events: 2002 User Groups Conference: Key Note Address
Keynote: Rudolph Giuliani
By
now, everyone knows Rudolph Giuliani. His name is synonymous with the
world's biggest disaster recovery and business continuity project of
all time. On the morning of September 11, 2001, Rudy Giuliani, then New
York City's Mayor, was at the heart of the worst terrorist attack in US
history and at the helm of the recovery process.
During the
tumultuous hours that followed, Giuliani calmly led frightened and
shocked New Yorkers through the chaos to midtown Manhattan. He set up a
makeshift command center to oversee rescue efforts while holding
regular news conferences to reassure people around the world that New
York was still standing.
For his extraordinary efforts, Giuliani was named Time
magazine's Man of the Year and Queen Elizabeth II awarded him with the
honorary title of Knight of the British Empire. Now acting as a
consultant to Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officers around
the world,. Giuliani will discuss his role in the wake of the September
11 tragedy and the role of leadership in business continuity planning.
